SUMMARY:“Think Globally\, Act Locally” - Explore Data Sources on Greenhouse Gas (GHG)
DESCRIPTION: \n\nScientists attribute the patterns of global warming
observed since the mid-20th century to the human expansion of the
greenhouse effect due to the gases that trap heat in the atmosphere. The
EPA collects four primary GHG data\, including Carbon dioxide (CO2)\,
Methane\, Nitrous Oxide\, and Fluorinated GHGs. In particular\, according
to the Overview of Greenhouse Gas Emission in 2019\, CO2 accounts for about
80% of the total emissions among the four GHGs. In this workshop\, we will
consider the following data sources on GHG emissions.\n\n\n	CO2 emissions
with a focus on two of EPA’s GHG programs\, including Greenhouse Gas
Reporting Program (GHGRP) and Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions
and Sinks. By examining the source of GHG emissions by industry and
geographic locations\, you will obtain a more comprehensive understanding
of the GHG emission data.\n	More importantly\, in the later part of the
workshop\, we will also consider a number of local GHG related data
sources\, such as annual greenhouse gas emissions produced by the City of
Boston\, and different emissions scenarios.\n	Other data sources related to
GHG emissions and global warming\, such as public opinion survey data (e.g.
Gallup Analytics) and international statistics database (e.g.\, Statista\,
 OECD Statistics).\n
